McIntyre Library held its annual holiday fundraiser to benefit the eau Claire Hmong Mutual Assistance Association (HMAA). Individual contributions from library staff and others in the campus community totaled $485, enabling the HMAA to purchase more than 900 pounds of rice. In a letter of thanks, HMAA Interim Executive Director, Yong Kay Moua wrote, "Your donation comes at a critical time when we especially need to help families with unanticipated food emergencies over the winter season. Due to increases in home heating and utility costs, an increasing number of families are registering with our agency to receive rice."
