The McIntyre Library Staff Association annual giving project raised $675.65 for the Hmong Mutual Assistance Association (HMAA) rice pantry this year.

Every penny goes toward buying rice, and this contribution will buy 4826 pounds of rice,  making a difference in the lives of our Eau Claire area neighbors.

Maybe you need to laugh away your stresses.  Stop by McIntyre Library on Sunday afternoon after the Packers game (December 16th at 4-5 pm) and prepare yourself for hilarity from the Backwards Thinkers Society.  The show will be located on the first floor of the library behind the reference desk.

If you miss your dog back home the library will be hosting therapy and guide dogs in the library for you to pet Sunday-Wed of finals week. They will be in the library on Sunday, December 16 from 2-3 pm, Monday, December 17 from 4:15-5:15 and 6-7:30 pm, Tuesday, December 18 from 5-6:30 pm, and Wednesday, December 19 from 5:30-6:30 pm. If you can't relieve your stress through petting an animal or dancing, consider making a stress ball, coloring, or doing some aromatherapy at the stress relieving workstations in the library on Monday, December 17 and Tuesday December 18 from 6-9pm. These stations are located near the entrance of the library.  This event is sponsored by Student Health Services.

If all else fails, go crazy and dance the night away on Monday, December 17 from 11:30-midnight  with a library dance party.  DJ Element will provide music and a dance club lighting will be set up as well.  After the dance party, munch on free food and grab a free coffee too!  All of this is FREE and is sponsored by the Dean of Students Office, Higherground, Student Affairs and McIntyre Library.

For the late night studier, McIntyre Library and Sodexho will offer free coffee from 10 pm-4 am Sunday-Thursday nights of finals week (December 16-20).  The coffee is located across from the library's circulation desk on the first floor.

Annual food pantry giving project underway.

Winter is the season of many celebrations, but it is also a season of great need, especially for families who rely on the harvest of their gardens for income and sustenance. McIntyre Library is holding its annual collection to benefit the Hmong Mutual Assistance Association rice pantry. Every donation, large or small, will help area families. Fourteen cents buys a pound of rice, and $20 feeds a family of 5 or 6 for a month. To contribute, please visit Http://libguides.uwec.edu/hmaagiving or drop your spare change in the donation box by the Library's new book shelf on the 1st floor.
