Books Donated in Memory of Former McIntyre Librarian

Image from:
Last May, former McIntyre Librarian Cleo Powers passed away. With over 30 years of service to McIntyre Library, including serving as acting director of the library from 1996-1998, many faculty, staff, and students donated to the McIntyre Library Foundation in Cleo's memory.

McIntyre Library staff couldn't think of any better way to honor Cleo than to use the money to purchase books for the Instructional Media Center (IMC) which she was responsible for creating when it was known as the Center for Reserve and Instructional media (CRIM). The list that you see below are the 31 books that we were able to purchase in her honor.

Universal Borrowing - Unavailable During Upgrade April 9 - May 20

Universal Borrowing, the ability to borrow books and other circulating items from other UW System campuses, will be unavailable during an upgrade to the library's circulation system April 9-May 20.

All loan requests must be sent via McIntyre Library's Interlibrary Loan system ILLiad. We suggest using WorldCat to submit book requests because this will automatically populate the ILLiad form which will help expedite any requests you make.

Because Interlibrary Loan is different than Universal Borrowing there will be some differences:

  • Loan Periods: Faculty/Staff will NOT get semester loans. The due date is dictated by the lending library. There are no exceptions.
  • Renewals: Most libraries allow 1 renewal, but some do not. Renewal due dates are not generated instantaneously. Renewals can be placed through ILLiad, or send an email to
  • Fines/Fees: ILL overdue charges are $1/day.
  • Turnaround Time: Items may take 1 extra day to arrive.
Thank you for your patience as we upgrade the library's circulation system. If you have any questions, please direct them to or 715-836-5377.
