Universal Borrowing - Unavailable During Upgrade April 9 - May 20

Universal Borrowing, the ability to borrow books and other circulating items from other UW System campuses, will be unavailable during an upgrade to the library's circulation system April 9-May 20.

All loan requests must be sent via McIntyre Library's Interlibrary Loan system ILLiad. We suggest using WorldCat to submit book requests because this will automatically populate the ILLiad form which will help expedite any requests you make.

Because Interlibrary Loan is different than Universal Borrowing there will be some differences:

• Loan Periods: Faculty/Staff will NOT get semester loans. The due date is dictated by the lending library. There are no exceptions.
• Renewals: Most libraries allow 1 renewal, but some do not. Renewal due dates are not generated instantaneously. Renewals can be placed through ILLiad, or send an email to library.ill@uwec.edu
• Fines/Fees: ILL overdue charges are $1/day.
• Turnaround Time: Items may take 1 extra day to arrive.

Universal Borrowing Upgrade Complete

McIntyre Library's Universal Borrowing upgrade has been completed.  You are now able to request books and other circulating items from other UW Systems campuses in the library catalog.

Universal Borrowing Unavailable 7/30-8/20

The library's Universal Borrowing (UB) service will be unavailable from July 30-August 20 as it gets upgraded.  Book requests should be made through Interlibrary Loan during this time period.   For more information on Interlibrary Loan see: www.uwec.edu/Library/services/borrowOther.htm

Universal Borrowing service is available.

Universal Borrowing service has resumed. Books and other materials from UW campus libraries may again be ordered through Universal Borrowing. These items usually arrive faster than when ordered through Interlibrary Loan.

Universal Borrowing is the fastest way to get books and materials from other UW libraries. Try to get your books from Universal Borrowing first before requesting them through Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan is used to order journal articles. Books, DVDs, CDs, and materials that are not available through Universal Borrowing can be ordered using Interlibrary Loan.
