New York Times [AND] Dictionary of American Regional English now available online
Two popular resources are now available online through McIntyre Library. The New York Times, including book reviews, editorial cartoons and advertisements, is searchable from 1851 to the present. The Dictionary of American Regional English (DARE), exploring regional language differences and etymologies, will let you get to the bottom of the soda vs pop debate. The online version includes interactive maps and audio recordings. Both resources can be found via the Find a Database link on the McIntyre website, by title or by topic.
